A police constable allegedly slapped a young man during a routine document check in Islamabad’s New Blue Area, and the incident was captured on video by a passer-by.

The clip quickly went viral on social media, where it sparked widespread criticism, with many users also creating memes and reels about the incident.

According to a video obtained by ARY News, a police official stopped three young men and asked them to show their CNICs and other identification documents. The footage shows the officer signaling them to stop before carrying out the document check.

Eyewitnesses said the checking lasted for several minutes, and the young men fully cooperated with the police. Residents of the area said such checks have become common in recent weeks and claimed that people are often stopped without any apparent reason.

The video further shows that after one of the youths handed over his documents, the police official suddenly slapped him before walking away from the scene.

The incident triggered outrage on social media, with many users demanding strict action against the officer.

Taking notice of the viral video, SSP Suleman Zafar suspended the police official and stated that misbehavior with citizens would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
