Two motorcycle riders, including a woman, died on Monday after allegedly being hit by two speeding cars racing on Srinagar Highway in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Police said the tragic incident occurred when the high-speed vehicles struck a motorcycle carrying a man and a woman during the race.
Both riders died on the spot. Their bodies were shifted to a hospital for legal formalities.
According to police, the driver of one car fled the scene after the accident, while the vehicle involved has been taken into custody.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident. The crash has once again raised concerns over reckless driving and dangerous street racing on Islamabad’s roads.
