The Rawalpindi district administration has rejected reports claiming that educational institutions will remain closed on Wednesday.

Officials said the information circulating about another holiday for schools, colleges and universities is incorrect.

The district administration clarified that a holiday was announced earlier due to the flood situation caused by heavy rainfall in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The closure applied to educational institutions on Tuesday, September 1, following torrential rains and concerns over the worsening situation.

However, no decision has been taken to announce a holiday for Wednesday, September 2.

The administration said it may consider announcing a holiday if an emergency situation arises.

Officials urged citizens and educational institutions to rely only on official announcements and avoid believing unverified reports circulating on social media.

The clarification comes after reports claimed that schools, colleges and universities in Rawalpindi would remain closed for another day.
