xAI has expanded access to its flagship Grok 4.5 artificial intelligence model across grok.com, X, and its dedicated iOS and Android applications.

The company previously offered the model as a specialised engine inside developer tools such as Cursor. Grok 4.5 now serves as the default model across xAI’s consumer and mobile platforms.

xAI developed Grok 4.5 to handle practical, multi-step tasks rather than focusing only on benchmark results.

The model aims to provide faster responses, maintain context during long conversations, and complete complex instructions with fewer follow-up prompts.

This approach could reduce the repeated revisions often required when professionals use AI to prepare documents, analyse information or complete projects.

Grok 4.5 can follow extended conversation histories and complete multi-layered instructions in a single process across desktop and mobile devices.

Grok 4.5 can summarise lengthy PDF documents while retaining important context. It can identify key findings and extract the most important conclusions from the files.

The model can also create multi-sheet Excel workbooks with working mathematical formulas. It can turn plain-text outlines into structured presentations, slides and diagrams.

xAI has also added native Microsoft 365 integrations for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. These add-ins allow users to rewrite reports, work with spreadsheets, prepare presentations and organise email threads without leaving the relevant Microsoft application.

Grok 4.5 supports programming languages including C++ and Rust.

According to the provided information, developers can use simple text instructions to create functional applications and complete advanced coding tasks.

Elon Musk described Grok 4.5 as an “Opus-class model,” comparing its problem-solving abilities with Anthropic’s Claude Opus family while claiming that it offers faster processing speeds.

xAI also says Grok 4.5 provides twice the token efficiency of competing architectures.

xAI has priced Grok 4.5 at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens.

By comparison, Anthropic’s Opus models cost between $5 and $25 per million tokens, while OpenAI’s top-tier models cost $5 per million input tokens and $30 per million output tokens.

Google’s Gemini 3.6 Flash costs $1.50 per million input tokens and $7.50 per million output tokens.

The lower operating cost could make Grok 4.5 suitable for corporate customers processing large amounts of data.

Grok 4.5 is now available globally through xAI’s website and mobile applications.

However, users in the European Union cannot currently access the model as xAI works through regional regulatory requirements.
