Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed relevant ministries and Pakistani missions abroad to intensify efforts to secure employment opportunities for the country’s youth, with a specific focus on the international job market.
Chairing a high-level review meeting in Islamabad on Monday, the Prime Minister instructed Pakistani embassies to actively track and identify vacancies for skilled workers.
He emphasized that missions must provide real-time information regarding required qualifications and certifications to ensure Pakistani candidates remain competitive.
To streamline the process, he ordered the complete digitization of the Protectorate of Emigration system, a move designed to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles and improve efficiency for overseas job seekers.
The Prime Minister further tasked the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, NAVTTC, and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme with providing specialized technical training, foreign language courses, and internationally recognized certifications.
He highlighted that alignment with international standards is crucial for increasing the global employability of Pakistan’s “highly capable” workforce.
The meeting was informed that over 800,000 young people have already registered on the Digital Youth Hub portal.
This platform will now serve as a central repository for overseas vacancies in sectors such as healthcare, IT, construction, and biotechnology, with Pakistani embassies directly uploading job data to assist local applicants.
PM Shehbaz stressed that providing youth with the right tools and training remains a top government priority to ensure sustainable economic growth through human resource development.
