Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore approved the creation of 477 new posts to strengthen healthcare services at District Headquarters Hospital Chak Rawalakot.

He directed authorities to include Phase-III of the project in the upcoming budget, the local correspondent of APP reported this from Mirpur, citing official sources.

According to official sources, the decision was taken during a high-level meeting held to review matters related to the expansion and improvement of healthcare facilities at DHQ Hospital Rawalakot.

The Prime Minister said the government was prioritizing the health sector to meet growing public needs across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He said the newly sanctioned posts would help address the shortage of medical and paramedical staff and significantly improve service delivery at the hospital. Senior officials, including the Additional Chief Secretary,

Principal Secretary, Secretary Finance, Secretary P&D, Director General Health and former Information Minister Sardar Abid Hussain Abid, attended the meeting.

During the session, it was also proposed that Phase-III of the hospital project be included in the next fiscal year’s development plan.

The Prime Minister accepted the proposal and directed relevant departments to ensure budget allocation for timely implementation of the expansion project.
