Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir have arrived in Switzerland to take part in high-level negotiations aimed at pushing forward a ceasefire framework between Iran and United States, Al Jazeera reported.

The talks are being held in Burgenstock, where US Vice President JD Vance is also expected to participate. According to reports, Pakistan is mediating alongside Qatar, which is also expected to join the discussions.

The negotiations are focused on ensuring implementation of an interim understanding aimed at ending the ongoing war and preventing further regional escalation.

Iran’s delegation has already arrived in Switzerland, stating its priority is full implementation of the emerging agreement to halt hostilities.

The developments come amid intensified diplomatic efforts to secure a comprehensive end to the conflict, with multiple regional and global actors engaged in behind-the-scenes coordination.
