Knowledge and Human Development Authority has confirmed that private school fees in Dubai will remain unchanged for the 2026–27 academic year following directives issued by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The decision is part of Dubai’s broader strategy to support families and maintain stability within the emirate’s private education sector amid ongoing economic reforms and growth initiatives.
The announcement follows the approval of Dubai’s second economic incentives package worth Dh1.5 billion, bringing the total value of recent support measures to Dh2.5 billion.
The package includes 33 initiatives scheduled for implementation over the next three to 12 months, targeting several sectors, including education.
Under the new measures, KHDA-regulated private schools will benefit from deferred or instalment-based license renewal fees as well as deferred fines. Early childhood centers will receive exemptions from license renewal fees, fines, and Dubai Municipality market fees.
Additional support from the Knowledge Fund Establishment will include partial rent exemptions and extended rent-free periods for centers currently under development.
Authorities also announced broader relief measures for education providers, including partial or full exemptions from guarantee insurance requirements, suspension of contractual penalty clauses, a freeze on rent increases during renewals, and deferred rental payments.
Officials said the steps are aimed at ensuring operational continuity while balancing the interests of schools, investors, and families.
Dubai’s private education sector continues to show strong growth, with more than 95% of students attending in-person classes and schools offering 17 different curricula options.
KHDA reported that around 9,000 new affordable school seats were added during the current academic year, while nearly 230,000 students are enrolled in affordable education institutions. Authorities also plan to add another 7,500 seats over the next two years.
The regulator said more than 30 applications for new private schools are currently under review after six new institutions opened this year. Enrolment in Dubai’s private schools increased by 6% in 2025, reflecting continued demand in the sector.
