QUETTA: The provincial government has imposed a curfew in Noshki district with immediate effect in view of the worsening law and order situation in the area.
An official notification issued late on Tuesday night by the Balochistan Home Department stated that, in view of the law and order situation, a curfew had been imposed across Noshki district from 8pm on July 28.
It added that the curfew would remain in force until 8pm on July 31.
“There will be a complete ban on the movement of people and leaving their homes without permission from the concerned authorities during the curfew,” the notification stated.
It added that public gatherings, processions and rallies would also remain prohibited across Noshki district during the curfew period. Unnecessary travel within the district would not be allowed.
However, the deputy commissioner would be authorised to exempt government employees, medical staff, rescue workers and utility service personnel from curfew restrictions.
The notification warned that strict action would be taken against those found violating the curfew under the relevant laws.
It may be recalled that a curfew has already been imposed in Khud Kocha sub-tehsil of Mastung district since July 22 following an attack on a Karachi-bound passenger coach in the area, which left three people dead and five others injured. The curfew in Khud Kocha remains in force.
