A court in Karachi has granted a three-day physical remand of high-profile drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky , a day after police said their earlier request for custody had been turned down.
According to DIG South Asad Raza, the suspect was produced again on Wednesday before the Judicial Magistrate South after the court had rejected the police request for physical remand during the previous hearing.
He said police once again sought the suspect’s physical remand before the court, which this time approved a three-day remand. Following the order, police took the suspect into custody and left the court premises.
Police sources said authorities have also collected details of past cases allegedly registered against Anmol alias Pinky as part of the ongoing investigation.
The latest development comes days after Garden Police arrested the woman in Karachi during a high-profile anti-narcotics operation. Police had claimed to recover cocaine and other narcotic substances worth millions of rupees from her possession.
The case drew public attention earlier after the suspect was brought to court without handcuffs, prompting questions over the manner in which she was presented before the court despite the serious allegations against her.
