Canada is looking for skilled healthcare and social service professionals from abroad, including Pakistan, to help address workforce shortages and strengthen essential services across the country.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has encouraged qualified professionals with the required training, credentials, and experience to explore available immigration pathways.
The occupations highlighted include nurse practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, psychologists, and social workers.
Canada has identified healthcare and social services among the sectors where skilled workers are needed. Other priority areas include science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), skilled trades, defense and cybersecurity, critical minerals, and education.
Foreign professionals interested in moving to Canada can use the government’s immigration tools to identify programs that may suit their qualifications and circumstances. They can also search Canada’s Job Bank for employers recruiting international candidates.
However, applicants should check whether their profession is regulated in the province or territory where they plan to work. Those working in regulated occupations may need to have their foreign qualifications and professional credentials recognized before they can begin working.
The government is encouraging skilled international professionals to explore available opportunities and immigration pathways as Canada continues efforts to fill workforce gaps in key sectors.
