The Board of Directors (BoD) of Trans Peshawar has approved starting new feeder bus routes on Ring Road, Dilzak Road and Khyber Road, as well as the operation of additional buses on the main Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor to reduce the waiting time of the commuters.

The approval was given during the 46th meeting of the Board of Directors of Trans held at the Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Islam Zeb. All the board members attended the meeting.

The board first reviewed the implementation of the decisions taken in the 45th meeting and expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far.

In view of the increasing demand and large number of commuters, the meeting approved the purchase and inclusion of 52 new electric and 50 hybrid buses in the system to further improve the environment-friendly operation of Peshawar BRT and reduce carbon emissions.

It is also worth mentioning that Trans Peshawar has recently received ISO 9001-2015 certification for its excellent quality management system.

Despite the increase in fuel prices, no increase in fares has been made in the interest of the public and passengers. The board directed the management of Trans Peshawar to complete the process of purchasing new buses and issuing routes at the earliest and in the meantime, ensure strict implementation of all quality and safety norms.
