Bahawalpur police carried out a large-scale operation against liquor sellers, drug traffickers, and illegal weapons holders across the district, resulting in the arrest of 20 suspects and the recovery of significant quantities of contraband.

According to a police statement, officers seized 1,075 litres of liquor during raids conducted in different areas of the district. The operation also led to the dismantling of four operational liquor distillation units and the arrest of four individuals allegedly involved in the illegal liquor trade.

In a parallel crackdown on narcotics, police arrested 12 suspects and recovered 3.65 kilograms of hashish along with 1.512 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice.

Police also took action against illegal weapons holders, arresting four suspects and recovering one mini Kalashnikov and three 30-bore pistols.

Separate cases have been registered against all arrested individuals, while investigations are underway to identify potential links to wider criminal networks operating in the region.

The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by Punjab Police to curb the sale of illegal drugs, liquor production, and the possession of unauthorized weapons across the province.
