Asus has announced the ROG NUC 16 Edition 20, a limited-edition compact gaming PC created for the 20th anniversary of its Republic of Gamers brand. The system brings flagship-class gaming hardware to a 3-liter chassis with a special anniversary design.

Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5090 GPU is known to be a monster-sized graphics card that is almost as big as this mini PC. But this compact computer manages to fit that power into it and is also easy to carry around.

The ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 uses a semi-transparent 3-liter chassis with detailed styling and gold accents. The design separates it from the standard ROG NUC 16 and matches the wider Edition 20 lineup Asus introduced at Computex 2026.

The compact form factor supports both vertical and horizontal placement through a removable stand, giving users more flexibility for desk setups and entertainment areas.

The system is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 290HX Plus and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24GB of GDDR7 memory. The RTX 5090 Laptop GPU can dissipate up to 175W for sustained performance.

The standard ROG NUC 16 is listed with up to an RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, making the Edition 20 version the more powerful model in the compact desktop lineup.

The mini PC supports up to 128 GB of dual-channel DDR5 memory. The official specification sheet lists two 64GB DDR5 SODIMM configurations and includes 32GB DDR5 6400 memory modules in the listed model.

Asus uses a triple-fan cooling system and a unified vapor chamber to manage the heat from the CPU and GPU inside the small chassis. The cooling system includes one dedicated 75 x 75 x 7.5mm fan for system memory, along with a dedicated SSD heatsink.

The system offers 300W CPU and GPU heat dissipation and up to 21% higher CPU thermal capacity.

For storage, the ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 includes a 2TB PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD. It also supports PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD configurations ranging from 1TB to 4TB.

The ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 includes one Thunderbolt 4 Type-C port with DisplayPort 2.1, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two HDMI 2.1 FRL ports, two DisplayPort 2.1 outputs, an RJ45 LAN port, a DC input, and a Kensington lock slot.

Wireless connectivity includes Intel Killer Wi Fi 7 BE1750x and Bluetooth 5.4. The system also includes 2.5G LAN through a Realtek RTL8125D controller.

The ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 weighs 3.12kg and uses a 380W power adapter. The small desktop is built for high FPS gaming, AAA titles, creative work, video editing, 3D rendering, multitasking, and AI workloads.

The system blurs the line between gaming laptops and desktops. It uses laptop-class CPU and GPU hardware, but places them inside a compact desktop body that is closer in size to a small console than a regular tower PC.

Asus has not shared pricing or exact availability details for the ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 yet.

The system is part of Asus’ limited Edition 20 anniversary lineup, which also includes special ROG graphics cards, motherboards, peripherals, displays, and gaming accessories.
