Asus has introduced the Adol High Speed Solid State USB Drive PM310 in China, combining the compact design of a flash drive with faster solid-state storage technology.
The device includes built-in USB-A and USB-C connectors, allowing users to move files between older computers and newer phones, tablets, and laptops without carrying a separate adapter. It offers transfer speeds of up to 500MB/s and storage capacities ranging from 128GB to 1TB.
The Adol PM310 has a USB-A connector on one end and a USB-C connector on the other.
This design allows users to connect the drive directly to desktops and laptops with standard USB ports before moving it to newer devices that rely on USB-C.
The drive uses a metal body measuring 82 × 20 × 7.5mm and weighs 42.9 grams. Asus has also included a built-in flip-cover mechanism to protect the connectors when they are not being used.
The portable drive uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface and supports sequential read speeds of up to 500MB/s.
Although larger external SSDs can reach higher speeds, the PM310 provides faster transfers than conventional USB flash drives while retaining a compact thumb-drive design.
The Asus Adol PM310 supports plug-and-play use across several operating systems.
Compatible platforms include macOS, Android, HarmonyOS, iOS and iPadOS, allowing users to transfer files between computers, smartphones and tablets.
The base model offers 128GB of storage and costs around $41. The 256GB version is priced at approximately $60, while the 512GB model costs around $92.
The highest-capacity model offers 1TB of storage and is priced at approximately $141.
Colorful has also recently launched the RP600X Pro portable SSD, which supports read speeds of up to 1,000MB/s and Apple ProRes recording.
