CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced online, showing the frightening attack and the timely intervention by a citizen who managed to save the children.

Both children suffered serious bite injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.

The latest attack comes amid increasing criticism of authorities for failing to control the stray dog population in Lahore. Residents say such incidents have become alarmingly frequent despite repeated demands for action.

The incident follows another tragic case reported just days ago, where a child died after developing rabies following a stray dog bite. Several other attacks involving children have also been reported across the city in recent weeks.

Residents have urged the Punjab government and local authorities to launch an effective campaign to remove stray dogs from residential areas and strengthen preventive measures to protect public safety, particularly that of children.
