Ten Pakistani sailors have been held hostage by Somali pirates aboard the oil tanker MT Honor 25 for more than 42 days, as negotiations continue for their release.

According to reports, the crew is surviving in harsh conditions, relying on boiled rice and contaminated water, with limited access to medical supplies.

Families of the sailors have expressed deep concern over their deteriorating condition and have appealed for urgent government intervention to ensure their safe return.

The pirates have reportedly demanded a ransom of around $3 million for the release of the vessel, cargo, and crew.

Negotiations are being conducted through intermediaries, including humanitarian channels, while Pakistani authorities maintain that diplomatic and maritime efforts remain active.

Despite ongoing talks, the sailors remain in captivity, with families continuing to urge swift action for their rescue and safe repatriation.
